Holly Nettles
Vibrant impressionistic paintings inspired by nature and simple pleasures
About the Artist
Holly Nettles is known for her vibrant impressionistic paintings inspired by nature and simple pleasures. A native of North Carolina, she studied journalism and studio art at UNC-Chapel Hill. After college, she moved to California and worked in advertising and marketing but eventually, her North Carolina roots brought her home. Her artistic study continued through workshops with prominent artists from across the country and by simply painting at every opportunity.

She has a passion for using expressive color and abstracting landscapes and her work has both energetic and peaceful qualities. Holly has a pressing need to create and finds inspiration everywhere. Afternoon light on the marsh grass or reflections of people by the ocean sends her running to her easel. Her award-winning work is in collections across the country.

Living now on the Outer Banks of NC, her work can be found at the Cooperative Gallery in Kill Devil Hills, NC and the Dare County Arts Council Gallery in Manteo, NC. Also, follow her on instagram @ h_nettles_art
